Bandai Namco Entertainment America has officially launched CAPTAIN TSUBASA 2: WORLD FIGHTERS, bringing the iconic anime and manga series back for another round of over-the-top soccer action. The sequel is now available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam in Standard, Deluxe, and Ultimate Editions.
Players once again step into the shoes of Tsubasa Ozora as he represents Japan on the road to the highly competitive World Youth Championship. Along the way, the team will face 22 international rivals, including soccer giants such as Brazil, Argentina, the Netherlands, and Mexico. The game also features more than five club teams, five high school teams, and the special Real Japan team from the original manga.
The game features more than 110 playable characters, giving fans plenty of familiar faces to choose from. The game expands the series’ signature Super Action Soccer gameplay with improved visuals, new abilities, and more than 150 new special moves and cutscenes.
One of the biggest additions is a new goalkeeper-versus-shooter system, allowing players to counter powerful signature shots and blocks in dramatic anime-style sequences. Passing, dribbling, tackling, and shooting all remain important, but players can also unleash each character’s unique abilities to turn the tide of a match.
Music composer Tadayoshi Makino also returns, contributing more than 80 new tracks to the sequel.
With its larger roster, flashy moves, and familiar characters, CAPTAIN TSUBASA 2: WORLD FIGHTERS looks ready to deliver exactly the kind of wild soccer action fans have come to expect from the series.
