Studio Durand has announced Camping Keeper, a solo-developed campground management game coming to PC in 2027. Created entirely by Samuel Durand, the game will also receive a public demo early next year, giving players a chance to experience its campground-building simulation ahead of launch. A first trailer has also been released.

Camping Keeper starts players with nothing more than an empty field. From there, they can build tent and caravan pitches, bungalows, shower blocks, pools, shops, paths, and green spaces. However, running a successful campground goes beyond simply placing buildings. Water and electricity work through real networks with limited capacity, meaning poor planning can leave guests without enough water for their showers.

The game also puts considerable focus on its individual campers. Each guest has their own needs, budget, and preferences, with campers physically moving around the grounds, waiting in queues, spending money, and leaving reviews. Those reviews influence the campground’s reputation and, in turn, future bookings.

Weather and different guest types also add another layer of unpredictability. Rain can empty the pool, storms can turn paths muddy, while heatwaves encourage guests to seek out shaded areas.

Players can set prices, hire staff, manage seasonal changes, and gradually transform a basic one-star campground into a five-star resort. Scenario missions, trophies, and a sandbox mode will give players plenty of ways to build.

“I wanted a management game that stays readable and welcoming on the surface, but whose simulation genuinely holds up underneath,” says Samuel Durand. “The queue at the showers exists because thirty people wanted a shower at nine in the morning, not because a stat decided it.”

Camping Keeper looks like an interesting mix of accessible management and detailed simulation, especially for players who enjoy watching their decisions play out naturally.
