Burger King is collaborating with an old favorite and becoming the latest fast food chain to release an anime-themed meal with its new “Dragon Ball Super Power Up Pack” menu item.
The fast-food chain announced on Aug. 31 that it’s launching a limited-time menu with a “Dragon Ball Super” theme connected to the manga series released in 2015.
Burger King has tapped into its Saiyan powers as far back as 2000. The company had a “Dragon Ball Z” kids menu 26 years ago to capitalize on the booming popularity of the animated series, which was airing on Cartoon Network at the time.
The new “Dragon Ball Super Power Up Pack,” which hits Burger King restaurants on Sept. 1, comes with the following:
The packaging is also anime-themed and contains a “Dragon Ball Super” crown.
Burger king is also releasing a “Dragon Ball Super”-themed King Jr. Meal for kids at participating restaurants nationwide. The meal includes the following, a choice of hamburger, cheeseburger or 4- or 6-piece chicken nuggets, plus a side, a drink, a crown and one of the six figurines, as long as supplies last.
Burger King’s “Dragon Ball Super” collaboration comes out just weeks after McDonald’s rolled out a Hello Kitty & Friends x Godzilla Happy Meal, which combines characters from the anime Sanrio universe with monsters from the iconic “Godzilla” film franchise.
Of course, the Happy Meals also come with a toy. This collaboration, which hit restaurants on Aug. 18, features eight exclusive collectible trinkets.
McDonald’s also announced on Aug. 31 that it’s collaborating with another beloved animated character as well as a popular anime series. The company is rolling out a SpongeBob x One Piece Happy Meal on Sept. 15, featuring 15 exclusive collectible toys.
Popeyes has also dipped a fry in the anime space, teaming up with “One Piece” in April for its first anime collab. The offering featured menu items inspired by the series’ characters.
In 2025, McDonald’s re-created one of its Japanese dipping sauces for U.S. restaurants in a collab with the anime series “Jujutsu Kaisen.” The Special Grade Garlic Sauce was inspired by McDonald’s Japan’s Black Garlic Sauce.
