The supergroup will play two Canadian shows in Toronto and Montreal this November
Former King Crimson members Adrian Belew and Tony Levin are teaming up with Steve Vai and Terry Bozzio to celebrate the music of the influential English prog band on tour this year, which will take them throughout North America this fall.
This time around, Bozzio will be replacing Danny Carey on drums, due to Carey's other commitments to Tool.
"[Bozzio] is one of the truly legendary drummers of our time, whose remarkable career and unique musical voice make him the perfect artist to join us for this tour," Vai shared in a release. "He brings his own extraordinary artistry to BEAT, and that's something worth celebrating."
"Our deepest appreciation goes to our brother Danny Carey — a true BEAT-Poet. His extraordinary musicianship, generosity, humour, and explosive creativity helped establish BEAT as something far beyond a tribute," Belew added. "He helped create its identity. While Tool commitments keep him from joining us this fall, he remains an essential part of our family."
The tour will kick off in Santa Cruz, CA, on October 9. The band will make their way up to Canada in November, with gigs booked at Toronto's Great Canadian Casino (November 1) and Montreal's St-Denis Theatre (November 2). Afterward, they'll continue touring throughout the US into early December.
