Australian police say they have charged a dual Russian and Australian national with attempting to engage in intentional foreign interference.
The man, 27, was arrested on Thursday after an investigation by the Counter Foreign Interference Taskforce and will appear in court in Brisbane, federal police said.

The crime of intentional foreign interference carries a penalty of 20 years’ imprisonment in Australia.
