Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced could be the next big 2026 release to come to Switch 2. That's according to a retail listing, which suggests the game is set to arrive on Nintendo's console later this month.

French retailer E.Leclerc (via Nintendo Life) has a listing, not for the game itself, but for a Black Flag Resynced-themed Switch 2 Pro Controller. The listing says the controller will be available 22nd September, which indicates the game is released on or around that date.

The listing also has an image of the controller, and it does show the Black Flag insignia at the top with other Black Flag-inspired art wrapped around it.

The timing of this discovery is notable as rumours about the next Nintendo Direct are getting louder. The showcase, which many believe is set for sometime next week, would make a lot of sense as a place to announce Black Flag Resynced for Switch 2.

Nintendo Direct presentations typically contain a mix of first and third-party announcements, and Ubisoft has a history of aligning the reveal of Nintendo console ports of its games with Nintendo events. Ubisoft, of course, already has one Assassin's Creed game released on Switch 2 in Assassin's Creed Shadows.

Black Flag Resynced has been one of the most successful releases of this year so far. The game exceeded Ubisoft's own expectations, selling over 3.5 million copies in just two weeks. It was one of the best-selling titles overall in July in the US, too.

In the Eurogamer review of Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, Dom Peppiatt said the game brings great upgrades that modernise the classic, while unnecessarily layering features of modern Assassin's Creed games on top, which don't belong.
