On Truth Social, the U.S. president pushed back against the prime minister’s claim that the U.S. viewed the French language as an “irritant” during trade deal negotiations, saying he’d “never even thought of doing such a stupid thing.” Instead, Donald Trump accused Mark Carney of lying about it to bolster his political support in Quebec.
