This time, the team is dragged into a deadly game of retaliation and revenge. Six seasons in, it remains one of the rare spy thrillers that can make espionage feel both dangerous and enormously fun.
Monster: The Lizzie Borden Story, Netflix, September 17: Another month, another monster for Ryan Murphy to dissect. This time it’s Lizzie Borden, accused of murdering her father and stepmother in 1892. The series digs into the notorious case and the theories surrounding it, including the question that has lingered for more than a century: why?
MobLand S2, Paramount+, September 18: The Harrigans and Stevensons are still at each other’s throats, and nobody seems remotely interested in calling a truce. Tom Hardy is expected back as fixer Harry Da Souza, despite earlier rumours of his departure. Consider the family business very much open.
Strictly Come Dancing S24, BBC One, September 19: The nights are getting shorter, the sequins are coming out and Strictly is back with trademark spray tans and heroic attempts at the cha-cha. Josh Widdicombe, Emma Willis and Johannes Radebe take over from hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman.
Brothers, Apple TV+, September 23: Twelve years after True Detective, real life besties Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson are back together. In Brothers the duo play fictionalised versions of themselves, with their friendship tested when they decide to live under the same roof. Two old friends, one house and a very good recipe for trouble.
American Horror Story: 13, Disney+, September 25: Thirteen seasons in, Ryan Murphy’s horror factory keeps churning. Jessica Lange and Kathy Bates are among the fan favourites returning for another round of murder, mayhem and supernatural nastiness.
