A few days back we reported about the undisguised spy shot in Brazil of the new 2027 Renault Kwid facelift. Now it has officially been revealed, giving us a proper look at the updated hatchback. The new model does not bring a complete change to the Kwid, but there are enough updates to make it look and feel much newer.

The new Kwid has been revealed in Brazil for the 2027 model year. It is offered in Evolution, Techno and Outsider versions. Prices start at R$71,190 in Brazil.

The Kwid still has its familiar small body, but several parts have been revised.

The front now has a cleaner layout with the DRLs placed higher up. The main headlamps sit lower as before. The rear gets fewer changes, but the new tail lamps and Renault logo give it a newer appearance.

The dashboard is the main talking point here. Renault has given the Kwid a completely new layout that looks much more modern than before. A 7-inch digital instrument cluster sits ahead of the driver. Next to it is a new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The larger display supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

The cabin also gets a new multifunction steering wheel, two USB Type C ports and electric outside mirrors on higher versions.

Renault has added several useful features to the new Kwid.

The Kwid also keeps its 290 litre boot. Folding the rear seats increases the available space to around 1,100 litres.

There is no major change under the bonnet. The Brazilian model uses a 1.0 litre three cylinder naturally aspirated flex fuel engine. On ethanol, it produces 71 hp and 98 Nm. On petrol, the output stands at 68 hp and 92 Nm. A 5 speed manual gearbox sends power to the front wheels. Renault claims 14.4 km per litre in the city and 15.4 km per litre on the highway with petrol under Brazilian testing conditions.

The 2027 Kwid is available in three versions.

The Outsider is the most loaded version and gets features such as diamond cut wheels, special exterior elements and different seat upholstery.

There is no confirmed announcement for India at present. Renault India received a Kwid update in July 2026, so the Brazilian version is not an immediate change for our market.

Still, the new dashboard and added equipment show how much the small hatchback can be upgraded. If Renault uses these changes for India later, the Kwid could offer a much more modern cabin than the current model.

For now, the updated Kwid gives Renault a fresher hatchback for Brazil, with the cabin upgrades being the biggest talking point.
