A Charlton fan was slapped with a football ban after he admitted assault on a police officer in Swansea.<\/p>\n
Andrew Smith, 55, of Okehampton Crescent in Welling, pleaded guilty to assaulting an officer in the execution of his duty.<\/p>\n
This happened in Swansea on May 2 when Charlton Athletic ended the Championship season with a 3-1 defeat to Swansea City.<\/p>\n
Smith appeared at Swansea Magistrates' Court on Monday (August 3).<\/p>\n
He was given a football banning order lasting four years.<\/p>\n

He is not allowed to come within two miles of The Valley for a period of four hours either side of a home game.<\/p>\n
The order also forbids him from entering any town or city where Charlton Athletic are playing on that day.<\/p>\n
He was also ordered to pay \u00a350 in compensation to the officer and \u00a3200 in fines.<\/p>\n
Smith was also ordered to pay \u00a385 in costs to the Crown Prosecution Service.<\/p>\n
