No children were injured.<\/p>\n<p>During the Kanwar Yatra, devotees, called kanwariyas, walk hundreds of kilometres to collect water from the Ganga near Haridwar and carry it back to their home states to offer at temples.<\/p>\n<p>The incident on Monday took place at Charak Crossing in the Chowk area while the van was on its way to drop students at school. One of the motorcycles hit the rear of the vehicle after the van driver applied the brakes, which led to an argument.<\/p>\n<p>The dispute prompted some of the kanwariyas to allegedly damage the van\u2019s rear windshield and side mirror, before they fled.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">In UP&#039;s Lucknow, a school van was attacked and vandalised allegedly by men part of Kanwar Yatra in Lucknow. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/LYHgcNeZjH\">pic.twitter.com\/LYHgcNeZjH<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Piyush Rai (@Benarasiyaa) <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/Benarasiyaa\/status\/2084181631745872221?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw\">August 3, 2026<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Assistant Superintendent of Police Shubham Kumar told the newspaper that the police had identified the registration numbers of the three motorcycles using surveillance camera footage and videos of the incident.
