Meant Well Games has announced Voice Heist, a first-person comedy game that puts players in the unusual position of being the brains behind a heist while an AI-powered robot partner handles the action. The game is currently planned for PC in 2027.<\/p>\n
The main idea behind Voice Heist is simple: you give the orders, and the robot tries to make sense of them. Every action depends on a command, creating plenty of opportunities for things to go hilariously wrong. Powered by on-device AI from technology partner Tryll Engine, the robot can comment on your instructions, react to events around him, and answer questions like a proper character rather than a typical scripted companion.<\/p>\n
However, the AI isn\u2019t completely making things up. Developers have created correct and intentionally funny wrong outcomes for different command and object combinations, with the language model choosing how the situation plays out. Players will also be able to use text commands, making sure people without a mic can play it as well.<\/p>\n
Things get more stressful as mistakes raise the alarm meter, making the robot increasingly nervous. Each level also offers multiple ways to complete a heist, whether that\u2019s sneaking through a window, picking a lock, disabling cameras, hacking systems, or simply grabbing whatever you can.<\/p>\n
There are no instant dead ends, either. A failed approach can close off one route without ending the entire heist.<\/p>\n
Voice Heist looks like it could turn every botched plan into its own memorable story, which makes it one to watch ahead of its 2027 release.<\/p>\n
