Rio Ferdinand said the signing of Ezri Konsa only reinforces his belief that Arsenal are favourites to win the Premier League again this season.<\/p>\n
Mikel Arteta was desperate to add defensive reinforcements this summer, with Jurrien Timber and William Saliba both set to miss the start of the season through injury.<\/p>\n
The Gunners identified Konsa as their number-one target and now appear to have reached an agreement with Aston Villa to sign the versatile defender for an initial fee of \u00a351million.<\/p>\n
Konsa will undergo his medical in the coming days and is Arsenal\u2019s fourth new summer signing after Illan Meslier, Christos Tzolis and Bruno Guimaraes.<\/p>\n

Analysing Konsa\u2019s move to the defending champions, Ferdinand told his YouTube channel: \u2018I think this is a magnificent signing. A player in his prime who knows exactly who he is and what he is.<\/p>\n
