Jana Monroe is a retired FBI special agent who was one of the first women to serve in the FBI’s Behavioral Science Unit, the organization known for pioneering criminal profiling.<\/p>\n

During her 20-plus years in the FBI, Monroe worked on hundreds of violent crime and homicide investigations, helping law enforcement agencies analyze offender behavior and identify serial offenders.<\/p>\n

She later held senior leadership roles within the FBI, including overseeing major field offices and contributing to cybercrime initiatives, before retiring in 2006.<\/p>\n

She worked on several notable FBI serial killer cases such as Jeffery Dahmer and the Rogers family killer. Monroe has written about her experience in the FBI in a book titled “Hearts of Darkness: Serial Killers, the Behavioral Science Unit, and My Life as a Woman in the FBI<\/a>.”<\/p>\n
