Mysuru: Mysuru City Corporation (MCC) in its budget for this financial year 2026-27, has earmarked Rs. 10 crore for footpath repair works, with Rs. 6 crore earmarked for footpath and road related works on Dasara Jumboo Savari route alone.<\/p>\n
Regional Commissioner Nitesh Patil said, tender has been already awarded to carry out the works on repairing footpaths and roads, to facilitate which footpath encroachments should be cleared by meeting 100% target.<\/p>\n
RC Patil directed the officers to install boards marked as \u2018Prohibited Vending Zone,\u2019 besides putting up boards at 52 Vending Zones marked as \u2018Free Vending Zones.\u2019 The boards should be painted in colours, rather than using plastic materials or flex boards.<\/p>\n
The officers should take serious action to shift the vendors to \u2018Raitha Santhe\u2019 (Farmers Market) built by Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), now rebranded as Mysuru Development Authority (MDA), he added.<\/p>\n
The Zonal Officers should curtail the public from turning the conservancy lanes into parking lot, which is especially high in commercial areas, the RC said.<\/p>\n
He (RC Patil) suggested the officers to take a cue from the concept of \u2018Garbage Vulnerable Points (GVP)\u2019 conceived by MCC while dealing with garbage menace and design a concept called \u00a0\u2018Footpath Encroachment Vulnerable Point (FEVP)\u2019 and map the areas. The primary focus should be on those areas where footpath encroachment is more. In the coming days, at least 10 such FEVPs should be identified from all the nine Zonal Offices.<\/p>\n
Insisting that, Jumboo Savari procession route should be the main focus, RC Patil asked the officers to remove abandoned cars from public places and shift them to Sewage Farm in Vidyaranyapuram, spanning 100-acre area. On the lines of Greater Bengaluru Authority (GBA), such vehicles can be put up for auction. The Home Guards can be deputed to guard those vehicles and the MCC should pay their wages. Additionally, CCTV cameras should be installed by MCC to keep a tab on those vehicles, he added.<\/p>\n
