Awarapan 2 vs Batwara 1947 Worldwide Box Office Collection Day 4: Remember when Sunny Deol's Apne locked horns with Emraan Hashmi's Awarapan at the box office in 2007? We witnessed a similar situation after 19 yeas when Sunny and Emraan locked horns for the second time lately and this time it was for Batwara 1947 and Awarapan 2 which had hit the screens on August 14. For the uninitiated, while Batwara 1947 comes with a patriotic vibe as it is set with a backdrop of India-Pakistan partition, Awarapan 2 comes with a nostalgia around it as it a sequel to 2007 release Awarapan.<\/p>\n
Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, Batwara 1947 also features Shabana Azmi, Preity Zinta, Karan Deol and Ali Fazal in the lead. The movie marks Santoshi's 4th collaboration with Sunny after 30 years since their three blockbusters – Ghatak, Damini and Ghayal. On the other hand, Awarapan 2, which is helmed by Nitin Kakkar, also features Disha Patani, Shabana and Suvinder Vicky in the lead. The movie marks Emraan's second collaboration with Disha and features Shabana Azmi as the lead antagonist. After enjoying a decent run at the box office, both Awarapan 2 and Batwara 1947 saw a dip in numbers on the first Monday<\/p>\n
According to a report published in Sacnilk, Batwara 1947 recorded its lowest single day collection in overseas and earned Rs 75 lakhs in overseas on day 4 (first Monday) taking the overall collection to Rs 6.25cr while the overall worldwide collection turned out to be Rs 40.20cr<\/p>\n
This Emraan starrer also saw a massive dip in the overseas on day 4 (first Monday) and earned Rs 2.5cr taking the overall collection to Rs 21.8cr while the total worldwide collection emerged as Rs 130.82cr after 4 days of release.<\/p>\n
It is evident that Awarapan 2 has managed to beat Batwara 1947 with a huge gap despite a huge dip in numbers in the overseas market and Emraan's movie has earned over 233% more than Sunny's film.<\/p>\n
