One Nation is pushing to cut the federal tobacco excise by 75 per cent and freeze indexation for three years in a bid to curb organised crime.<\/p>\n
Canavan says he's open to cutting the excise, but was critical of One Nation's policy approach.<\/p>\n
"I am critical of what has been, in the last week, a thought bubble upon thought bubble approach to policy from One Nation," he told reporters.\u00a0<\/p>\n
"Bubbles are fascinating … but they eventually pop.<\/p>\n
"What we will do is come forward with a policy on vaping, on excise, on all these policy areas, that last.<\/p>\n
"We will come forward with a very detailed, considered policy."<\/p>\n
