Hayden Panettiere, who is best known for her starring roles in TV shows like Heroes and Nashville, died on Sunday at age 36. She leaves behind a daughter, Kaya Evdokia Klitschko, who is 11.<\/p>\n
In a statement to TIME, Greenville Police say that officers \u201cresponded to a report of an unresponsive female\u201d at an address in Greenville, South Carolina, just before 2 p.m.<\/p>\n
\u201cUpon arrival, medical assistance was administered; however, the individual, later identified as Hayden Panettiere, was pronounced deceased at the scene,\u201d the statement reads.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Greenville Police also confirm that \u201cthe preliminary investigation has not indicated any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances\u201d and that \u201can acquaintance of Ms. Panettiere placed the 911 call.\u201d<\/p>\n
Audio obtained by the New York Post reveals that first responders tried to resuscitate someone\u2014allegedly Panettiere\u2014with \u201cadvanced cardiac life support.\u201d A medic can be heard saying \u201coverdose\u201d and then \u201cCPR is in progress.\u201d However, Greenville Police tell TIME that they are unable to verify the audio and say that it is \u201cnot ours.\u201d<\/p>\n
Her father, Skip Panettiere, confirmed the actress\u2019s death in a statement shared with ABC News, which broke the news early Monday. \u201cIt is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden,\u201d he said, describing his daughter\u2019s passing as an \u201cunimaginable loss.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cShe was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her\u2014and to the millions who watched her onscreen,\u201d the statement continued.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The actress\u2019s publicist, Kasey Kitchen, said there is \u201can investigation ongoing\u201d into Panettiere\u2019s death, according to NBC News. TIME has reached out to Kitchen for additional comment.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Tributes have been pouring in for the actress, who also voiced Dot in Pixar\u2019s A Bug\u2019s Life in 1998.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Academy Award winner Viola Davis, who starred alongside Panettiere in the 2016 drama Custody, described her as \u201can amazing talent,\u201d in a post on social media.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cI wish the world had more time with you because I had a burning curiosity about who you were becoming,\u201d said Davis. \u201cYour tests became your testimony, and your testimony became your legacy. You will be remembered. Rest well, Hayden.\u201d<\/p>\n
Actress Bethany Joy Lenz, a longtime friend, said that she was \u201ccrushed\u201d in a post on social media. \u201cI\u2019m here with my head in my hands and I don\u2019t know what else to do in aside from praying for her soul,\u201d she said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
