The company has already revealed the name on its official website, while more details about the scooter have now surfaced ahead of its launch.

According to leaked information, the Konarc could be offered in six variants, with claimed ranges going up to 200 km. The scooter will reportedly be available in two series called S and Q, with variants expected to be named SR1, SR2, SR3, SR4, QR2 and QR3.

The Konarc will be based on Ather’s new EL platform and is expected to use the company’s new Bedrock battery technology. The platform is designed to support battery packs ranging from around 2kWh to 5kWh. This could allow Ather to offer the scooter with different battery sizes and price points.

As per the leaked details, the Konarc could have claimed ranges of around 100 km, 125 km, 160 km and 200 km, depending on the variant. The 200 km figure is expected to be available on the top-spec version, while the lower variants will get smaller battery packs.

Charging is also expected to be reasonably quick. The scooter could get a 450W onboard charger, while an additional 450W charger may also be available. With both chargers working together, the total charging output could go up to 900W, potentially taking the battery from 0 to 80 percent in around two hours.

Ather has also been testing the Konarc in some pretty extreme conditions. The scooter was recently spotted testing in the Himalayas, where Ather reportedly tested it for around 60 days in temperatures ranging from -4°C to 3°C. The aim was to check how the battery and scooter perform in very cold weather.

From the spy images, the Konarc also looks quite different from Ather’s 450 series. It gets a more practical design with a rectangular LED headlamp, a wide floorboard and a long single-piece seat. This suggests that the new scooter will focus more on everyday usability rather than sporty performance.

The Konarc is expected to be positioned below Ather’s 450 range and could be priced in the Rs. 1 lakh to Rs. 1.25 lakh range, although the final price will be announced at launch. Ather could also offer a Battery-as-a-Service option, which would bring down the initial purchase price.

With this scooter, Ather will be entering a much larger part of the electric scooter market and will take on models such as the TVS iQube, Bajaj Chetak and Hero Vida.

The Ather Konarc is expected to make its debut soon, and the leaked 200 km range, multiple battery options and more practical design could make it an important new model for the company. More details about the exact specifications, variants and pricing will be confirmed at the launch.

Instant on-road price by state (accounts for state-varying RTO tax) plus loan EMI.
