Fans just got a first peek at the upcoming live-action \u201cTangled\u201d film and one actor in particular blew their minds.<\/p>\n
During the showcase at Disney\u2019s D23 convention in Anaheim, California on Aug. 14, audience members were able to see a teaser for the film, which will be a retelling of the 2010 Disney animated movie. The clip included a look at Teagan Croft in the lead role of Rapunzel as well as Kathryn Hahn as the villain Mother Gothel. And people truly cannot handle Hahn\u2019s sinister look.<\/p>\n
The film, which is based on the German fairy tale \u201cRapunzel\u201d by the Brothers Grimm, is slated to hit theaters March 31, 2028, Disney announced at the event.<\/p>\n
In the teaser, Croft\u2019s Rapunzel appears on screen with her lengthy, blonde locks. Hahn\u2019s Mother Gothel is later heard, calling out to Rapunzel, before dissolving into wicked laughter.<\/p>\n
Mother truly couldn\u2019t be more chilling.<\/p>\n
Hahn \u2014 who\u2019s cemented her status as a queen of all things spooky due to her performance as witch Agatha Harkness in Marvel\u2019s Cinematic Universe \u2014 received quite the reception from the audience in addition to social media users, who have described her casting as \u201cperfect.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cshes serving the exact unhinged maternal menace that made the original gothel iconic,\u201d one X user said.<\/p>\n
Another fan said that Hahn was \u201cBORN FOR THIS.\u201d<\/p>\n
The \u201cTangled\u201d segment of the showcase also featured a message from Croft and Milo Manheim, who plays the dashing Flynn Rider. The pair, who filmed the message from Spain, shared some views from their shooting locations in the country, including monasteries and cathedrals.<\/p>\n
In an interview with E! News, Hahn gushed over the experience on the film.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe cast is so delicious,\u201d Hahn said. \u201cI can\u2019t believe I\u2019m singing and dancing at this stage in my life.\u201d<\/p>\n
The D23 event also included several other big moments. Disney debuted a first look at \u201cThe Bluey Movie,\u201d based on the beloved kids\u2019 television show. The movie is slated to hit theaters on August 6, 2027.<\/p>\n
Fans also got to see the stars of the upcoming \u201cX-Men\u201d film, that\u2019s scheduled for a 2028 debut. In addition to Sadie Sink as Jean Grey, Marvel introduced Kit Connor as Scott Summers, Christopher Abbott as Professor Charles Xavier, Samara Weaving as Emma Frost, Inde Navarrette as Rogue and Maya Boyd as Storm. Adam Driver will play villainous geneticist Mister Sinister.<\/p>\n
