Nicole Kidman has given fans a rare glimpse into not one but two of her most high-profile relationships.<\/p>\n
The Oscar-winning actor was married to Tom Cruise from 1990 to 2001, and adopted two children together: Isabella and Connor.<\/p>\n
Following their split, she then met musician Keith Urban in 2005 in Los Angeles, with the pair marrying a year later in Sydney, Australia.<\/p>\n
Nicole and Keith welcomed two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, and for years were one of Hollywood\u2019s power couples.<\/p>\n
However, in September 2025, Nicole announced that she and Keith had separated.<\/p>\n
It was revealed that she had filed for divorce \u2014 despite reportedly not wanting the split \u2014 citing irreconcilable differences.<\/p>\n
Now, almost a year on, and after having clearly embraced the single life, Nicole has opened up about both marriages and how they differed from one another.<\/p>\n
Speaking to British Vogue, the 59-year-old explained how her relationship with Tom Cruise impacted the very beginning of her career.<\/p>\n
\u2018You have to remember literally, because of who I married at such a young age, I was thrust into it since I was 22,\u2019 she began.<\/p>\n
\u2018I got married so young. Suddenly I was 22, 23 years old and I had this huge movie star husband. But it just seemed completely natural. We just fell madly in love and it was that simple.\u2019<\/p>\n
Nicole continued, saying that people warned her that her marriage could affect her career. However, it didn\u2019t faze her.<\/p>\n
\u2018I\u2019m like, \u201cI don\u2019t care. I\u2019m in love. I want to be married.\u201d And then I was his wife and they were like, \u201cSee, we told you.\u201d I\u2019m like, \u201cSo what? I wasn\u2019t meant to marry the man I love? Of course I\u2019ll throw my career away. I don\u2019t care\u201d.\u2019<\/p>\n
Sadly, we all know that fairytale didn\u2019t last. Neither did the naivety of young love in the public eye.<\/p>\n
