Last night ITV unveiled the new eye logo for Big Brother 2026, and it\u2019s giving reality TV fans something they\u2019ve not felt in a long time: hope.<\/p>\n
The eye, which at first glance appears to be a simple photo of a human eye with a purple iris but, on closer examination, is a collage made up of various people\u2019s peepers, has impressed a fair few fans since it was revealed.\u00a0<\/p>\n
On X, @gtothet123 joked: \u2018Whattttt it actually looks good this year!!!!??!?!?\u2019 while another said it was the \u2018best eye ITV had ever made\u2019.<\/p>\n
Others, however, noted that the new Big Brother eye looked very similar to the poster for one of the greatest movies ever.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Specifically, they think it looks an awful lot like The Truman Show poster, which used a similar collage style.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The Truman Show would be an apt film for Big Brother to draw inspiration from, considering it\u2019s about a man \u2013 played by the always watchable Jim Carrey \u2013 whose entire life is being broadcast to the world as a TV Show.<\/p>\n
In fact, a number of people have described The Truman Show as one of the most prophetic movies ever made.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Writer Anthony Frajman noted that the film \u2018foretold the rise of reality TV, mass surveillance, social media, influencer marketing and our increasing obsession with celebrity.\u2019<\/p>\n
Still, before you start accusing Big Brother of copying The Truman Show\u2019s homework, it is worth noting that both the film and the once popular reality show both debuted in 1998.<\/p>\n
ITV is promising that this new series of Big Brother will be the biggest yet.<\/p>\n
According to a press release across the extended eight-week run, \u2018viewers can expect ambitious tasks, high-stakes nominations and dramatic live evictions as the housemates face challenges at every turn in their bid to outlast their rivals.\u2019<\/p>\n
They\u2019ve also revealed that AJ Odudu and Will Best are back hosting.<\/p>\n
Anyway, Big Brother fans are very excited by this new eye, and they\u2019ve been sharing their thoughts on Reddit.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Euphoric-Pop3449 noted: \u2018First time they\u2019ve used a human eye on a civilian Big Brother since series 1.<\/p>\n
\u2018Perhaps a hint they have taken casting seriously and have regular people? Either way, definitely says \u201cwe are doing things differently this year.\u201d\u2019<\/p>\n
