Kay Burley shared a fiery exchange with a GB News presenter who criticised her social media posts on small boats immigration.<\/p>\n
The former Sky News presenter, who retired from the network in 2025 after 36 years, uses her page on X to react to the day\u2019s biggest news stories.<\/p>\n
On Monday Burley, 65, commented on small boats coming to England from across the Channel, while responding to news that people smugglers had crammed more than 200 people onto a boat from France to the UK.<\/p>\n
In a post on the platform, Reform UK\u2019s home affairs spokesperson Zia Yusuf wrote: \u201cThat\u2019s not a \u2018small boat\u2019. It\u2019s an invasion.\u201d<\/p>\n
In response, Burley commented: \u201cI\u2019ve seen longer queues in the \u2018five items or fewer\u2019 [aisle]. Stop it, just stop it!\u201d<\/p>\n
The comment caught the eye of GB News\u2019 Ben Leo, who claimed that Burley\u2019s comment reflected a desire to ignore the small boats by the mainstream media that GB News was responding to.<\/p>\n
\u201cJust stop it guys. Stop noticing! Look away. Stop overreacting,\u201d he wrote on X.<\/p>\n
\u201cIs it any wonder the country\u2019s in the state it\u2019s in when the media was led by this kind of mindset. Not anymore. Thank goodness for GB News.\u201d<\/p>\n
In response, Burley shot back: \u201cI had to look you up, Ben. Bless your cotton socks,\u201d to which Leo replied: \u201cDon\u2019t worry, I don\u2019t seek notoriety. I\u2019m just satisfied nobody listens to you anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n
