A 22-year-old man was arrested Friday after police allege he breached his court-ordered conditions and tried to flee from officers in east Windsor.<\/p>\n

Windsor police said bail compliance officers located the man in a parking lot in the 3300 block of Howard Avenue with assistance from the emergency services unit and the OPP-led repeat offender parole enforcement squad.<\/p>\n
When officers approached the vehicle, police said the man tried to get away by driving onto the sidewalk.<\/p>\n
Officers blocked the vehicle with their cruisers before removing the man and arresting him following a brief struggle, police said.<\/p>\n
A search of the vehicle turned up about eight grams of suspected fentanyl, 24 Dilaudid tablets and $531 in Canadian and U.S. currency.<\/p>\n
The man is charged with two counts of dangerous operation of a vehicle, two counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, failure to comply with a release order and breach of probation.<\/p>\n
Police said the man had been granted bail in April on several criminal charges, including firearm offences, uttering threats and four counts of possessing a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking.<\/p>\n
He had been placed on probation in connection with a separate criminal harassment charge two weeks earlier, according to police. His bail conditions included wearing an electronic monitoring device.<\/p>\n
Police said bail compliance officers later determined the man had breached his probation conditions by fleeing from a traffic stop and driving dangerously.<\/p>\n
The officers involved in the investigation are part of the Windsor police offender management unit, which supervises high-risk individuals subject to conditions including house arrest, curfews and electronic monitoring.<\/p>\n
