Michigan\u2019s Supreme Court Friday\u00a0ordered state regulators to reconsider a permit\u00a0that would allow Enbridge to upgrade the 1,038-kilometre Line 5 with a tunnel under the Straits of Mackinac.<\/p>\n
That means a contentious tunnel construction plan to replace a 73-year-old twin oil pipeline on the bottom of the Straits, where lakes Huron and Michigan connect, needs to be redone, taking into account potential alternatives and the environmental impact.<\/p>\n
