Perez Hilton is in a \u201cserious but stable\u201d condition after his admission to hospital, his family said in a statement posted to his website which added that \u201chis treatment and recovery will be a long process\u201d.<\/p>\n
Emergency services were seen outside the celebrity blogger\u2019s home in Miami on Tuesday after members of the public reported seeing him self-harm in a TikTok livestream.<\/p>\n
In a post to his Perez Hilton website on Saturday, his family said Hilton, 48, remains in hospital, adding: \u201cPerez\u2019s condition remains serious but stable.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe experienced significant blood loss and sustained additional injuries that will require surgery in the coming days.<\/p>\n
\u201cHis treatment and recovery will be a long process.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are grateful that Perez was able to spend time with his mother and sister yesterday.\u201d<\/p>\n
The statement said \u201chis communication has been extremely limited and confined to immediate family, medical providers, and others directly involved in his care\u201d, adding that Hilton \u201chas not communicated with the media or issued any public statements\u201d.<\/p>\n
His website was the only place where \u201ccredible and authorised\u201d updates would be given, the statement added.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs our family remains focused on Perez\u2019s treatment and recovery, we also need the space and privacy to care for everyone affected by this situation.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hilton\u2019s family and team previously detailed how it has been an \u201cincredibly difficult\u201d and \u201cheartbreaking\u201d time for them.<\/p>\n
In a statement to media on Tuesday, the Miami-Dade Sheriff\u2019s Office confirmed they attended a scene of a man \u201clivestreaming acts of self-harm\u201d, but did not name Hilton.<\/p>\n
Deputies confirmed the man was alone in the house at the time.<\/p>\n
Hilton, whose real name is Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr, rose to fame in the 2000s as a celebrity gossip blogger.<\/p>\n
