Just a day before the Head in the Clouds Music & Arts Festival takes over the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, a member of the headlining pop group Katseye has announced she is taking a hiatus from performing.<\/p>\n
Sophia Laforteza announced on Instagram on Friday that she\u2019ll be stepping away to take care of her mental health.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt truly breaks my heart to have to miss out on a lot,\u201d she wrote in an Instagram story. \u201cYou know how much I love being on stage, performing, and sharing these moments with you. Making this decision wasn\u2019t easy, but I\u2019m learning that health has to come first. I\u2019m realizing that if I don\u2019t take care of my mind and body now, I won\u2019t be able to keep doing what I love the most for so long.\u201d<\/p>\n
Laforteza thanked her fans for being \u201cpatient, understanding, and always showing me so much love,\u201d and said she\u2019d be joining Katseye fans, aka \u201ceyekons,\u201d in cheering on the group in the meantime.<\/p>\n

\u201cI promise I\u2019m going to work as hard as I can to get through this, heal properly, and come back stronger,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n
A post on the group\u2019s official Instagram account said Laforteza \u201cwill be temporarily unable to participate in upcoming promotional activities.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cWe understand how much EYEKONS were looking forward to seeing Sophia on stage, but it is imperative that her mental health and wellness are prioritized,\u201d the post stated.<\/p>\n
According to the statement, the pop star has been working with medical professionals who advised that she take \u201cdedicated time for extended rest and ongoing care to ensure a full recovery.\u201d<\/p>\n
While Laforteza is eager to get back to work with her fellow Katseye members, the post said her \u201chealth, safety, and long-term well-being\u201d will always be top priority.<\/p>\n
Over two days and seven shoots, we followed the members of Katseye, a rising K-pop group and the focus of a new Netflix documentary.<\/p>\n
Laforteza\u2019s progress will be monitored and she\u2019ll be reassessed in September \u2014 just as the group is slated to kick off their world tour. Fans can expect an update around that time, according to the post.<\/p>\n
Earlier this year, Katseye member Manon Bannerman also hit pause on performing with the pop group, meaning Saturday\u2019s headlining performance in Pasadena will feature four of the group\u2019s original six members. Daniela Avanzini, Lara Raj, Megan Skiendiel and Yoonchae Jeung are still set to take the stage.<\/p>\n
