Valerie Bertinelli\u00a0is opening up her personal archives, revealing a set of never-before-seen throwback photos, taken by her brother, David.\u00a0<\/p>\n
In the photographs, Valerie poses straddling a chair backwards while dressed in black lingerie, sporting her signature late-\u201970s feathered hairstyle<\/p>\n
\u201c#throwback 1979? I\u2019ve been doing a massive amount of decluttering around the house, going through old memorabilia\u2026 and stumbled upon a bunch of these negatives," she wrote in the caption. "I had totally forgotten that I had them, which is why we probably haven\u2019t seen them in print anywhere. Now I don\u2019t know what to do with them."<\/p>\n
Valerie continued: "But I have an idea\u2026 My brother @davidpbertinelli and I have a new show called Undeveloped, premiering today @itsvaleriesplace. Maybe I should get him to do something with them? Or not? Toss or save?"<\/p>\n
The discovery comes as the brother and sister duo have launched a new creative collaboration; Undeveloped – Stories from the Vault, is a new online program that streams via her digital hub,\u00a0It\u2019s Valerie\u2019s Place,\u00a0that takes fans inside David's extensive photography vault and a look back at her decades-long career.<\/p>\n
Golden Globes-winning Valerie has been in the television industry since she was a teenager, when she broke through at age 15 on One Day at a Time; the pictures were taken when she was 19.<\/p>\n
Valerie has never been afraid to be bold on social media, posting pictures in lingerie and swimwear in recent years to promote body confidence and self-acceptance.<\/p>\n
To mark her 65th birthday, the star shared a retrospective reel featuring photos and videos from the previous year, including a candid mirror selfie in her underwear.<\/p>\n
"Went through it all in the last handful of years and I\u2019m so grateful for the downs as much as I am for all of the ups I am blessed to experience," she captioned the reel, noting, in reference to her split from boyfriend, Mike Goodnough, in November 2024 after 10 months of dating: "The light at the end of the tunnel is finally here. I can see it. I feel it."<\/p>\n
Valerie became a household name throughout the late '70s and early '80s and had a resurgence in the 2010s with the comedy Hot In Cleveland with Jane Leeves, Wendie Malick, and the late Betty White.<\/p>\n
Valerie recently launched a new podcast, Still Hot in Cleveland, which revisits the sitcom.<\/p>\n
Beyond comedies, Valerie also built a successful second chapter as a culinary personality, winning two Daytime Emmy Awards hosting Food Network's Valerie\u2019s Home Cooking. In 2023,\u00a0her time on the network came to an end\u00a0when her show was canceled.\u00a0<\/p>\n
