Executive producer and “Call Her Daddy” host Alex Cooper also joined to advise Jowsey as drama reached its boiling point.

Jowsey joined TODAY’s Jenna Bush Hager and Willie Geist to discuss the show on Aug. 5, its premiere date. The final episode premieres Aug. 12.

Discussing his evolution from his reality debut to now, Jowsey said, “I feel like that guy back then didn’t really care too much about anyone else’s feelings. I was a class clown, I was going to do whatever I wanted.”

But for “Let’s Marry Harry,” he joked, he’s “figured out empathy and thoughts.”

After chatting with Jenna and Willie, Jowsey stuck around to break the rest down for TODAY.com: opening up to commitment, dating on and off screen and the self-help steps that got him ready to say “I do.”

This interview has been lightly edited for clarity.

After losing my dad, it was really a pivotal moment in my life. Seeing my sisters with their husbands and kids, and just knowing that I really wish I had that for my dad. Coming back to LA and not having a good support system, I was like, I’ve really got to be serious about love.

I kept asking for a sign, and they kept showing up. It was good.

Leading into it, it didn’t really cross my mind until the first day, and then I was like, “Oh my God, this is really scary.” I think the first fear, or thought throughout, I was just more upset about hurting people because I don’t want to be that guy anymore, and I don’t want to break anyone’s hearts. And obviously, it’s difficult, because that’s kind of a big thing that happens on dating shows. So I think that was my biggest fear going through the whole thing, I don’t want to break someone’s heart.

There was so much different. I was reading a bunch of self-help books, and then Amanda Kloots sat me down for four and a half hours before it, just quizzing everything about my dating life and making sure I was ready. I also knew if I didn’t take it serious and if I was playing around and being a silly sausage, it wouldn’t be good for anyone, and it would really suck. Netflix put all this like money into it and love into it, and I just wanted to make sure I was doing it as best I could.

Source: Read the original article on www.today.com

When the camera cuts, the interview isn’t over.
