Tata Capital Ltd (TCL) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Japan’s Resona Bank on Monday to explore opportunities for business matching and introduction through the former’s network.
The collaboration follows Resona Bank’s US$20 million commitment as a limited partner in Tata Capital Growth Fund III LP, which invests in Tata Capital Growth Fund III, a SEBI registered category II AIF managed by TCL, which is a diversified non-banking finance company.
“Both the companies said primary objective of the business collaboration is to leverage their respective strengths in the Indian market,” TCL said in a statement.
Under this non-exclusive collaboration, Resona Bank will leverage Tata Capital’s extensive presence in India and expertise in financial services to provide support for the Bank’s customers evaluating opportunities in the country, as well as those operating in the market
Rajiv Sabharwal, MD and CEO, Tata Capital said, “This collaboration combines Tata Capital’s deep understanding of the Indian market with Resona Bank’s strong relationships with Japanese businesses. Tata Capital Growth Fund III with a proven track record of value creation, will support companies looking to capitalise on India’s growth story.”
