Sensex Today, Nifty 50 | Stock Market Live Updates: Find here all the live updates related to Sensex, Nifty, BSE, NSE, share prices and Indian stock markets for 25th August 2026.
Indian shares traded marginally lower in listless trade on Tuesday as investors weighed escalating West Asia tensions, their potential impact on oil supplies and caution ahead of the monthly expiry of Nifty 50 derivatives contracts.
Sensex gained 145.61 pts or 0.19% to 77,514.72 at 3 pm, and Nifty 50 was up 27.45 pts or 0.11% to 24,246.50
Brent crude futures hovered around $92 a barrel, while Asian shares slipped ahead of Nvidia’s earnings. Iran’s pledge to retaliate against expanded US economic sanctions has added to geopolitical concerns.
Investors are also assessing the impact of India’s expected weak monsoon, with rainfall forecast to end the season around 15% below the long-term average, potentially hurting crop output, raising food prices and affecting rural incomes.
The Nifty 50 will see its first monthly derivatives expiry under the new closing auction session. Meanwhile, foreign investors bought shares worth Rs 1,182 crore on Monday, provisional data showed.
* Nifty remains weak: The index is trading around 24,150, down 0.27%, with no follow-through buying after Monday’s late-session rebound.
* Negative market breadth: Advances/declines stand at 8:42, signalling broad-based weakness.
* Immediate support: 24,080 is the key intraday support. A sustained break below this level could intensify selling.
* Downside targets: Below 24,080, Nifty could slip towards 24,000–23,980.
* Recovery zone: A bounce from 24,080 could take the index back towards 24,150–24,200.
* Key resistance: 24,200–24,220 is the immediate hurdle. A decisive break above 24,220 could open the way to 24,300.
* Nifty Futures: August Futures at 24,157 is struggling below 24,200, with support at 24,120 and then 24,050.
* Trading bias: Bearish below 24,220, with traders advised to watch the 24,080 support closely.
