Ducati has launched the all-new 2026 Monster in India, marking the arrival of the fifth generation of its iconic naked motorcycle. Prices start at Rs. 13.99 lakh for the standard Monster, while the Monster+ is priced from Rs. 14.34 lakh (both prices, ex-showroom). The new Monster is available in India in two variants, with the Monster+ getting a few additional styling elements over the standard motorcycle.
The new Monster gets a major overhaul for 2026, including a new 890cc V2 engine, a lighter chassis and updated electronics. Ducati has also focused on making the motorcycle easier to ride, with a lower 815 mm seat height, revised ergonomics and four riding modes.
The biggest update is the new 890cc V2 engine, which produces 110.7 HP at 9000 rpm and 91.1 Nm at 7250 rpm. Ducati says the engine uses IVT (Intake Variable Timing) to deliver smoother low-speed performance, stronger mid-range response and more power higher up the rev range. The new engine is also lighter than the previous Testastretta Evoluzione unit, while the valve-clearance inspection interval has been extended to 45,000 km. This should make the new Monster considerably easier to live with over the long term.
The 2026 Ducati Monster uses a monocoque frame with the V2 engine acting as a stressed member. The motorcycle weighs 175 kg without fuel, which is 4 kg lighter than the previous model. Suspension duties are handled by a 43 mm Showa upside-down fork at the front and a Showa monoshock at the rear. Braking is handled by twin 320 mm front discs with Brembo M4.32 radial calipers. The bike also rides on Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres, measuring 120/70 at the front and 180/55 at the rear.
Ducati has also lowered the seat height to 815 mm, making it 5 mm lower than before. The narrower seat and revised handlebar position are aimed at making the Monster easier to manage both in the city and during spirited riding. Feature-Rich Electronics Package The new Monster gets a comprehensive electronics package with a 6-axis IMU. It comes with cornering ABS, Ducati Traction Control, Ducati Wheelie Control, Engine Brake Control and Ducati Quick Shift 2.0.
There are four riding modes — Sport, Road, Urban and Wet — allowing the character of the motorcycle to be adjusted according to the riding conditions. A new 5-inch TFT display takes care of the instrumentation, while the motorcycle is also ready for Ducati’s Multimedia System, turn-by-turn navigation and cruise control.
The standard Monster is offered with the full equipment package, while the Monster+ adds a headlight cowl and passenger seat cover. Mechanically, both variants get the same engine, chassis, suspension, brakes and electronics.

The fifth-generation Ducati Monster also arrives in India after winning the Red Dot Design Award – Product Design 2026, adding another accolade to the motorcycle’s long design history. With its new V2 engine, lighter chassis, lower seat height and updated electronics, the 2026 Monster is a substantial update while retaining the core naked-bike character that has defined the model since its debut in 1992.
