The TN Government, through an official order on Wednesday , has appointed Singai G Ramachandran, who was formerly with the AIADMK, as the Chairperson of the Tamil Nadu Startup and Innovation Mission (TANSIM).
TANSIM is a governmental agency that spearheads the development of the startup ecosystem in the State. It has been branded and is operating publicly as StartupTN.
Ramachandran holds a Master’s in Business Administration from IIM Ahmedabad. The terms and conditions of Ramachandran’s appointment will be issued separately, the GO said.
The vacancy in the top post of StartupTN follows the resignation of its CEO, Sivarajah Ramanathan, a professional CEO appointed by the previous DMK government to lead the entrepreneurship development body, in June. According to Ramanathan’s appointment in 2022, his tenure was originally set to last until January 2027.
Earlier this month, Ramachandran, who was the former AIADMK IT wing secretary, joined the Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). This makes him a political appointee to the nodal agency compared to his predecessor Ramanathan.
