Mumbai: Nexedge Capital, a wealth-management and multi-family office firm led by former 360 ONE executive Anirudha Taparia, has raised $20 million in its maiden funding round, led by Mirae Asset Venture Investment and Elev8 Venture Partners.
“The investment round values Nexedge Capital at about close to a quarter of a billion dollars (around $250 million)," Taparia, the founder and chief executive officer (CEO) of the firm, told Mint in an interview.
He emphasised that India’s growing wealth pool presents a large opportunity for Nexedge. "This is a rare opportunity to build India's first true net-worth management firm—one that manages the entirety of a family's balance sheet rather than only its investible surplus," he added.
Nexedge will use the fresh capital to strengthen its technology platform, expand its senior banker network, extend its footprint across India, including tier-2 and tier-3 cities, and build out complementary offerings such as a dedicated NRI proposition, and a non-bank lending business.
“We started building in the north and eastern regions, which also included some tier 2 towns. We are currently in 11-12 cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, and Pune among others. We plan to add 10 locations such as Indore, Bhubaneswar, Raipur, and other markets by the end of this year,” Taparia said.
It also plans to expand its office network, grow its workforce, strengthen its technology infrastructure and offer conflict-free net-worth advisory to more wealthy families.
In his previous stint, Taparia served as the co-founder and joint CEO of 360 ONE Wealth and helped build the platform from inception into a multi-trillion-rupee, publicly-listed franchise.
At Nexedge, he is joined by co-founders Sidhartha Shaw, Vijeeta Sharma, and Pankaj Walia and a cohort of 15 founding partners averaging 20+ years across Citibank, Kotak Wealth, 360 One, Standard Chartered, among others.
“What convinced us to back Nexedge is its ownership model. Over 150 senior leaders have invested their own capital to become owners, not just employees,” Mirae Asset’s CEO Puneet Kumar said.
“When advisors have their own capital at stake, incentives are structurally tied to client outcomes, not growth targets alone. This gives us real conviction that Nexedge is where a disproportionate share of India's next wealth story will be built," Kumar said.
Launched in February 2025, Nexedge has been among the fastest-growing wealth-management platforms, scaling to more than $3 billion in assets under management within 18 months across over 1,300 clients. It has onboarded more than 95 senior bankers, with another 50-60 expected to join in 2026.
“India's HNI (high net worth individuals) and UHNI (ultra high net worth individuals) wealth pool is at the start of a multi-decade compounding cycle,” Elev8’s managing partner Navin Honagudi said in the joint interaction with Mint. “Nexedge stands out for its structural clarity, the depth of its founding team, and its ability to build client trust at a pace few platforms in this space have matched,” he added.
“We were very keen to back a team that had a vision to build a holistic business, which would not only include wealth management, but AMCs and NBFCs and so on over a period,” he noted.
Elev8 is focusing on two broad themes in financial services—financial infrastructure and insurance. The firm has already made investments in Smallcase, which enables retail investors manage their portfolio, and more recently – Dovetail in the financial infrastructure segment. "We are also spending some time in the insurance sector—where we have not yet made an investment but are actively looking at opportunities to enter,” Honagudi said.
Nexedge services HNIs, UHNIs, families and corporates by offering an end-to-end ecosystem that connects financial investments and portfolio management, curated, and customized to financial goals, alongside estate planning and global mobility.
