Brooklyn Beckham celebrated the first anniversary of his vow renewal with Nicola Peltz Beckham in a sweet post telling his wife of four years, “You are my absolute princess.”
Brooklyn Peltz Beckham is embracing his chosen family.
A year after David Beckham and Victoria Beckham’s eldest son renewed his vows with wife Nicola Peltz Beckham, he shared a heartfelt shoutout detailing her place in his life.
“Happy anniversary Nicola,” Brooklyn wrote in an Aug. 4 Instagram post. “I can’t tell you how much I love you. You are my best friend and I love you more than life itself. I am so lucky to be able to call you my wife.”
Alongside a photo of the pair posing in lounge clothes and holding wine glasses, the 27-year-old mused, “You are my absolute princess and I promise to always protect you.”
Indeed, Brooklyn—eldest brother to siblings Romeo Beckham, 23, Cruz Beckham, 21 and Harper Beckham, 15—has made it clear in the last year that Nicola is his number one priority.
In January, the photographer broke his silence on the longstanding feud between him and his nuclear family, which appeared to largely stem from his relationship with Nicola.
“I have been silent for years and have made every attempt to keep these matters private,” Brooklyn wrote in a lengthy Instagram statement Jan. 19. “Unfortunately, my parents and their team have continued to go to the press, leaving me with no choice but to speak for myself and tell the truth about only some of the lies that have been printed.
Brooklyn alleged that David and Victoria pressured him to sign the rights of his name away and interfere with his and Nicola’s relationship.
“My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding,” he noted, “and it hasn't stopped.”
Brooklyn—who recently reunited with godfather Elton John and David Furnish—admitted that he and the 31-year-old opted to renew their vows last August because of how his family behaved surrounding their original wedding festivities.
"We wanted to renew our vows so we could create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment," he shared at the time. “My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we've tried to come together as one.”
Meanwhile, David and Victoria have largely kept mum about their feelings toward their rift with their son. However, they have maintained they are doing their best to manage their family in the public eye.
“We’ve always tried to be the best parents that we can be,” the Spice Girls alum said in an interview with the Wall Street Journal published in April. “And you know, we’ve been in the public eye for more than 30 years right now, and all we’ve ever tried to do is protect our children and love our children. And you know, that’s all I really want to say about it."
