Sandra Bullock explained how her kids Louis, 16, and Laila, 13, constantly impress her, but the Practical Magic 2 actress quipped her daughter’s honesty surprised her.
Sandra Bullock knows her kids’ words have some gravity to them.
While the Practical Magic 2 star reflected on how impressed she is by her teenagers Louis, 16, and Laila, 13, she admitted that her daughter’s honesty can sometimes be a little “brutal.”
“I was getting on a Zoom, and she walks by and she went, ‘You know, you can put a filter on that,’” Sandra said on the Sept. 3 episode of Kylie Kelce’s Not Gonna Lie podcast. “I went, ‘What?’ She goes, You [can] make yourself look better.’”
So, with a hint of magic, Laila added a filter to the Oscar winner’s camera.
“It was literally like someone taking Vaseline and smeared it on the lens and put a sheet in front of my face,” Sandra quipped. “And I go, ‘OK.’ And it's still on that same setting.”
Still, despite the mixed emotions, the 62-year-old noted, “The honesty I appreciate.”
But Laila does more than help the Miss Congeniality star get camera ready. Indeed, Sandra is in awe of the person her daughter has grown up to be.
“This child, this young soul, is one of the bravest people I've ever met,” she continued. “She really has no fear—athletically, in her voice, in telling somebody what she thinks. As hard as it is on me as a parent, if this is who she's going to go out into the world and be, she's on the right path.”
Meanwhile, the Ocean’s 8 actress is equally captivated by how wise her son Louis is.
“He knows everything. He sees everything. He knows things that I don't even know,” she explained. “I find myself in situations, and I go, ‘What would Louis do right now?’ because his judgment is so spot on.”
And as Sandra sees it, “He's one of the sagest people. I look at him, and I go, ‘There's proof in reincarnation.’ Whatever he was before he got here was an evolved, beautiful soul. And he's been that way since they put him in my arms.”
