Italian luxury lifestyle brand Tonino Lamborghini is set to enter Chennai’s premium residential market through Republic of Nature (RON), a luxury residential development being built by GTB Developers at Vadanemmeli on the East Coast Road (ECR).

The project is likely to be launched on November 13. Tonino Lamborghini is also expected to be present in Chennai for the foundation stone-laying ceremony, said Arun Bharathi Arunachalam, Managing Director of GTB Developers.

Republic of Nature will comprise 106 premium apartments and 23 villas, targeting the high-end and ultra-luxury segments of Chennai’s residential market. The apartments will range from around 3,750 sq ft to 7,000 sq ft and are expected to be priced between ₹6 crore and ₹11 crore.

The villas will range from approximately 9,750 sq ft to 13,500 sq ft, with prices ranging from ₹18 crore to ₹28 crore, Arun Bharathi told businessline.

“Demand for luxury homes in Chennai has been growing in the last few years, with many homes now priced at over ₹10 crore. We have already received interest from businessmen, celebrities and NRIs for RON,” he said.

The developer expects to receive the required approvals shortly.

Tonino Lamborghini will bring its brand, design and interior expertise to the development, including interior furnishing and furniture for common areas and club facilities.

The Italian lifestyle and luxury accessories brand was founded in 1981 by Tonino Lamborghini, son of Ferruccio Lamborghini, founder of the Lamborghini automobile company. The brand has expanded into several luxury lifestyle categories, including interiors, hospitality and premium products.

The residential enclave is expected to be spread across around 11.5 acres, he said.

A key feature of the development will be a 3.5-acre man-made lagoon, which is being positioned as a first-of-its-kind feature in the country. A Dubai-based lagoon specialist is expected to be associated with the project, Bharathi said.

The development is also expected to include a 20,000-sq-ft private beach-style recreational area exclusively for residents. As regulations do not permit private ownership of the natural beachfront, the proposed facility would be created within the development.

Located close to beaches, resorts and entertainment destinations along the ECR, Republic of Nature is around a kilometre before the Sheraton Grand Resort.

A SeleQtions hotel by Indian Hotels Company Ltd (IHCL) had earlier been announced as part of the larger Republic of Nature development.

The association with Tonino Lamborghini will give the project a branded-residence positioning, bringing the Italian brand’s design and luxury credentials to Chennai’s housing market. The development could become the first Tonino Lamborghini-branded residential address in South India, he said.
