Vancouver police officer, anti-gang advocate and youth charity CEO Kal Dosanjh has been charged with theft, fraud and breach of trust offences dating back to 2017.

Dosanjh was arrested and taken into custody on Thursday.

A charge document reveals he is facing multiple counts of fraud over $5,000, and theft over $5,000.

According to the document sworn on Thursday, multiple charges relate to alleged fraud and stealing from investors of multiple property development projects.

Those include the Azura, Queen's Park and Sahara development projects.

The alleged offences occurred between Jan. 13, 2017, and Oct. 31, 2024, according to the document, with Sarabjit Singh Gill listed as a co-defendant.

According to B.C. Supreme Court documents, the two men are listed as partners in multiple property development ventures, which have been the subject of multiple civil lawsuits.

Dosanjh also faces two charges alleging he committed fraud over $5,000 and stole from the KidsPlay Youth Foundation, the charity that he founded in 2015.

Those alleged crimes occurred between Dec. 8, 2017, and July 25, 2025, according to the document.

Dosanjh also faces one count of breach of trust by a public officer.

On Thursday afternoon, plain-clothes and uniformed VPD officers were seen carrying boxes out of a home listed as Dosanjh's residence in court documents.

Dosanjh has been a VPD employee for more than two decades.

In 2015, he founded the KidsPlay Youth Foundation, a charity with the stated aim of "keeping B.C. kids away from a life of crime."

Dosanjh has made multiple media appearances in his role as the charity's CEO, with the non-profit often organizing sports events in a bid to engage youth with community programs.
