All-Australian star Jordan Clark provided a rare Fremantle first-half highlight in Thursday night’s qualifying final against Hawthorn, soaring into the Perth sky to pull down a spectacular mark.

After Hawk Blake Hardwick bombed the ball out of his defensive 50, Clark leapt on the head of opponent Jack Ginnivan, grasped the footy cleanly and hung in the air for several seconds before hitting the Optus Stadium turf.

It was a breathtaking moment for Clark in his 150th AFL game that left fans and commentators stunned.

“He’s played a blinder and now the mark to lift the roof,” Fox Footy commentator Matt Hill declared.

Fellow commentator Jack Riewoldt added: “That is a hang and a half!”

Unfortunately for Clark, the Mark of the Year can’t be awarded to a player for a finals grab.

Clark was one of Fremantle’s best players during a poor first half in Thursday night’s qualifying final against Hawthorn, which led by 32 points at the first change.

“He’s one that does have the answers with ball use at the moment. I’d be feeding him as often as I could because he’s seeing things really well,” Fox Footy’s David King said.
