Disney Channel star Carla Jeffery has died at the age of 33, her reps confirm. “For more than 20 years, we had the privilege of watching her grow into a beautiful, vibrant, and incredibly talented woman whose radiant smile could light up any room,” her manager wrote on Instagram. “Rest beautifully, Carla. Your light will never be forgotten.”

Born in Houston in 1993, Jeffery joined Alexanders Talent Management at the age of 12. Her first role was in 2006’s Phat Girlz, playing a 10-year-old version of Mo’Nique. Jeffery built a solid line of TV credits on shows like Southland, Shake It Up, and American Vandal. In 2007, she joined the cast of Curb Your Enthusiasm as a member of the Black family. Led by J.B. Smoove and Vivica A. Fox, the Blacks move in with Larry David after Hurricane Katrina. Jeffrey played Keysha Black for two seasons.

Jeffrey landed the role of Bree in the first Zombies DCOM in 2018. Bree was an aspiring cheerleader who befriends Addison, the Juliet in the star-crossed romance between zombies and cheerleaders. Jeffrey reprised the role in the 2020 and 2022 sequels, as well as the animated series.

She is survived by her twin brother, Carlon, who also appeared on the Disney Channel. He co-starred in A.N.T. Farm on the channel from 2011 to 2013.
