The company said the linked loyalty partnership will help members of both Canadian Tire’s Triangle Rewards and Tim Horton’s Tims Rewards get more value from their purchases.

By linking their accounts from both programs, Canadians can earn up to five per cent in points, known as Canadian Tire Money, on their eligible Tims purchases, alongside the points they already earn at the coffee chain.

“The Triangle Rewards and Tims Rewards partnership is built around one of the country’s most familiar routines: a Tims run,” Darryl Jenkins, executive vice-president and chief development officer of Canadian Tire, said in a press release.

Jenkins said partnering with Tim Hortons will give Canadians an easy way to earn Canadian Tire Money. He said this will further expand Canadian Tire’s Triangle Rewards program by rewarding members in more places, more often.

The program was first announced a year ago as Canadian Tire positions itself as an even more Canadian retailer.
