Goalkeeper Joe Whitworth has joined Wigan on a permanent move from Crystal Palace.
The deal is understood to be a free transfer with a significant sell-on clause included.
Whitworth spent two seasons with Wigan boss Gary Caldwell while on loan at Exeter City.
The 22-year-old boyhood Palace fan made two senior appearances for the Eagles – playing consecutive Premier League games in 2023, making his professional debut against rivals Brighton before starting against Arsenal at the Emirates.
Tottenham fans have been less than enthusiastic about the prospect of signing Mykhailo Mudryk in the comments.
Mudryk is set to join on loan from Chelsea with an option to make the move permanent for £75m. The winger is hoping to rebuild his career after he was cleared to return in July when his doping case was resolved.
Mudryk has not played a competitive match since November 2024.
Nicki108 says in the comments: 'I don't get the Mudryk move, he's unfit not played in two years and looking at a move to build that fitness surely spurs should be looking for a ready made player.’
N17 Sean adds: 'Mudryk to my beloved Spurs…. words fail me’
Here's Daily Mail Sport's Chelsea writer Kieran Gill on how fit Mudryk is…
