The Kawasaki Ninja 500 has entered the 2027 model year in India with a fresh Lime Green colour. It is priced at Rs 5.76 lakh (ex-showroom). Kawasaki has also opened bookings across its authorised dealerships, with deliveries scheduled to begin from the last week of August 2026.
The new colour gives the motorcycle a familiar Kawasaki look with white and blue graphics. Apart from this paint option, the motorcycle continues with the same basic package that has made the Ninja 500 a popular middleweight sportbike.
There is only one colour available for Indian buyers.
The Lime Green finish gets contrasting graphics that give the bike a sporty appearance. The Ninja styling also includes twin LED headlights, a sharp front section, a slim rear and a side-mounted exhaust.
Power comes from Kawasaki’s 451cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin engine. It produces 45 PS at 9,000rpm and 42.6Nm at 6,000rpm.
The engine is paired with a six-speed gearbox. It also gets an Assist and Slipper Clutch. This makes the clutch lighter to use and helps reduce rear-wheel hopping during hard downshifts.
The engine is tuned to offer good low and mid-range response. That makes it suitable for city riding as well as longer highway runs.
The Ninja 500 uses a lightweight trellis frame. The engine works as a stressed member and the chassis has been developed to keep the motorcycle easy to handle.
Suspension duties are handled by a telescopic fork at the front and a Horizontal Backlink swingarm at the rear.
The riding position is sporty but not too aggressive. The handlebar and footpeg layout also make it suitable for daily use and longer rides.
The Ninja 500 continues with the sharp styling associated with the Ninja family. Twin LED headlights give the front a familiar look, while the slim tail section keeps the rear compact. As mentioned earlier, the new Lime Green paint is the main visual change for the 2027 model year.
Kawasaki has also retained the rider-friendly ergonomics. The seat height and slim body help shorter riders get better footing, while the relaxed setup should work for longer rides too.
The MY27 Ninja 500 does not bring a major mechanical update. Its main change for India is the new Lime Green colour scheme.
At Rs 5.76 lakh, it sits in a segment with strong competition. Bikes such as the Aprilia RS 457 offer another option for buyers looking for a middleweight sportbike.
