A Western Washington lottery player scored a six-figure win after purchasing a ticket at a local market, according to lottery officials.

The lucky player matched all five white balls in the Hit 5 drawing on Friday, Aug. 28, to take the top prize, a Washington's Lottery spokesperson said.

The Hit 5 player won a cashpot of $115,000.

It was the first of two big wins for lottery players in Washington state.

A Powerball player in Western Washington won $50,000 in the drawing on Saturday, Aug. 29, according to Washington's Lottery.

Here's where the winning ticket was sold:

The Hit 5 winner bought their ticket at 5 Corners Grocery and Deli, 8406 Bowdoin Way in Edmonds, according to the lottery spokesperson.

The market owners will receive a $1,350 bonus for selling the cashpot-winning ticket, according to the lottery.

Washington's Lottery says the odds of winning the cashpot are one in 851,000.

The winning numbers for Friday's Hit 5 drawing were 1, 2, 5, 6 and 8, according to Washington's Lottery.

The Hit 5 cashpot starts at $100,000 and rises with each drawing without a grand prize winner. Following Friday's win, the cashpot reset to $100,000.

As of Monday, Aug. 31, the cashpot was up to $110,000.

To play the Hit 5 lottery game, players select five numbers between one and 42. The system can also select numbers through Quick Pick.

Matching all five balls yields a cashpot prize.

You can also score prizes ranging from a free lottery ticket to $150, depending on how many balls you match.
