Dream Theory Games has announced that its psychological horror game Hauntasy will launch on Steam on October 29, with a free demo already available for players who want to experience its haunted manor ahead of release.

The game puts players in the shoes of someone willing to spend seven nights inside a supposedly haunted estate for a massive $1 million reward. However, surviving until morning is easier said than done.

Each night, players must monitor the manor through an old television while keeping an eye out for paranormal activity. They can relight the candles to push back the darkness, while flame sensors can help track the movements of unseen entities. At the same time, players will need to carefully manage resources such as matches, money, hunger, and sanity.

The main objective is straightforward: survive until 4 AM. Across seven increasingly dangerous nights, players will have to learn how the manor operates and figure out how to deal with its supernatural inhabitants before they reach them.

Hauntasy also features randomized room and TV channel layouts, ensuring that each playthrough feels different. Players can take on the horror alone or bring a friend along for two-player couch co-op. Fishing also plays a role, with more than 100 fish species available to catch for food. The game includes Story Mode, where players can complete all seven nights for the Baron’s reward, and Co-op Baron Mode for cooperative survival.

With its mix of horror, strategy, and resource management, Hauntasy looks set to offer a tense new take on the haunted-house formula when it arrives this October.
