Publisher Xbox Game Studios and developer Playground Games have released a 16-minute long of Fable that features combat gameplay. The gameplay was captured on a PC on medium graphics settings.

"In Fable, you’ll flow seamlessly between melee, ranged, and magical abilities as you come face-to-face with classic creatures and new threats lurking across Albion," reads the description to the video. "Experiment with different loadouts, discover powerful spell combinations, and choose the combat style that feels right for you as you carve your own path through Albion."

Fable will launch for the for the PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, PC via Steam and Microsoft Store, and Xbox Game Pass on February 23, 2027.

But I did expect more from the combat demo

Every extend look at this game leaves me impressed. While the combat isn't revolutionary, this is a big step up from any of the previous Fable game. Fables bread and butter is the interaction with the world and NPCs, which this game seems to have nailed.

Hey, this doesn't look bad. I mean, it's no Elden Ring or GoW, but still looks ok.
I need to test it to make a better evaluation, but this looks very ok.

Comparing every game specifically to GOTY winners probably isn't a standard that should be set
