Windsor police are mum on the details of an investigation that resulted in one person’s apprehension at the Ambassador Bridge on Friday.

At 3:45 p.m., the force took to social media to say officers were at the bridge for a probe, and there was no risk to public safety.
“Expect delays and possible traffic disruptions at the Ambassador Bridge while the investigation continues,” police said in a post on X.
Emily Borland, corporate communications specialist with Windsor police, acknowledged the Star’s request for more information but did not answer questions about the nature of the investigation, who police had apprehended, or whether any charges were pending.
“Any updates or information we’re able to share will be posted to our Windsor Police Service Instagram, Facebook and X accounts,” Borland wrote in an email to the Star.
As of 5:10 p.m. on Friday, Canada-bound personal and commercial vehicles could expect to wait an hour and 15 minutes at the Ambassador Bridge. U.S.-bound vehicles faced no delays.
