Matthew Mayich, a popular 21-year-old defenceman who wore the barber poles for 256 games from 2021-2025, reportedly remains in an Arizona hospital after “an off-ice training incident” while preparing for the season with the Arizona State University hockey team.
According to the Arizona Republic, Mayich suffered a possible cardiac event.
