Manitoba Hydro president and CEO Allan Danroth is leaving his position with the provincial Crown power utility, the Free Press has learned.

Manitoba Hydro president and CEO Allan Danroth is leaving his position with the provincial Crown power utility, the Free Press has learned.

Danroth was hired two years ago by the NDP government after former CEO Jay Grewal was let go after helming Hydro for five years.

Last month, Danroth lashed out at critics for criticizing Hydro’s plans to build natural gas turbines to backstop the utility’s hydro-electric power generation system.
