Rogers has announced that it is expanding its 5G+ wireless network in New Brunswick.
Essentially, the community of Salisbury, New Brunswick, will be getting Rogers’ 5G+ service, which the telecom giant says is “improving safety and access to reliable communications for residents and businesses.”
Rogers notes that its wireless network currently covers nearly the entire population of New Brunswick, and that this expansion will help “meet the area’s growing needs” while providing access to emergency services. The company also noted that its satellite-to-mobile service is offered in New Brunswick in areas of the province not covered by traditional cell service. Using Rogers Satellite, you can access WhatsApp, Messenger, Google Maps, and even text-to-911. Recently, Rogers has started offering 24 months of the Starlink-powered Rogers Satellite on all plans.
This isn’t the only expansion Rogers announced this month. Just a few days ago, it also completed a massive expansion to bring 5G to eastern Ontario.
Further, the telecom giant announced in May that 40 new 5G towers were set to come online across Ontario, with 14 communities getting 5G services, all done through the EORN Cell Gap Project.
The telecom giant also notes that over the past decade, it has invested nearly $40 billion into its networks.
